Day 14

IM EXAUSTED!!! I wake up everyday to making phone calls, and trying to get things sorted out. I then spend the day taking care of the kids, once that is done I go to work, then back home to the kids. Somewhere in there is sleep but its not alot nor is it peaceful. Anyway today I was driving to work and saw a really pretty sunset afterall those are what is keeping me going these days. I pulled over and took a picture of it and of course thought about my honey. Something about it was peaceful and made me smile which I have not done in a few days. Once I got to work I was kept busy but customers and my manager so time passed fairly quickly. Now im home, kids are sleeping and you would think I would go to sleep but as tired as I am im wide awake. Well tomorrow is a new day. Have a good night.

Day 13 "Skool"

So I am contemplating on talking to my sons school to see if they willl allow me to do cap and gown kindergraden graduation pictures. The thing is, is that this is a brand new school so they dont do the pictures like an established school does. They have a yearbook photography and thats all. I dont think taking these pictures would be hard at all. I use to work at a studio where shots like this were all we did so Im use to it. Im in the stage of trying to figure out how to write a proposal to the school and setting up a meeting to talk to them. My problem is that im not an agressive person and Im hard on myself when it comes to me going to something in photography so im a little intimadated by it. Other than that I have decided to stay in school and continue with next semester. I was going to drop out since all of this happened with my honey, but he assured me today on my 15min phone call I got that I needed to keep it up. He likes my art and want is proud of me. That made me want to do it even more. So tonights picture is of my art that I did for school last semester and he was sweet enough to hang it on our wall a few weeks ago. Its nice to know that someone is proud of my even in the worst situations.. Hope yall enjoy.

Day 10 "Come Home"

Well today is day 10 and I think this is possibly the worst day of my life. I have come to realize that the saying you never know how much you love or miss someone until their gone is a true statement. There were some things going on today that casued Zack my fiancee/might as well be husband to have to unexpectedly go to Texas and we are not sure for how long. The biggest complaction is that I have no way to get intouch with him or to see him. Its only been 4 hours and I miss him so much already. I have learned very quickly not to take people for granted and to hold on to all of the good things. Just incase your wondering no he did not die, and no we are not breaking up that I know of. All I can do is wait and see what life has instore for me until he can come home again. This picture is a sunset on our first vacation. We watched it go all the way down. One thing I know is where ever he is in Texas if he looks at the sunset Ill be looking at it too. I love you!

Day 9 "Cheers"

Well hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. My Saturday has been pretty interesting. Today started off with me waking up to Zack (my fiancee) saying the water in the house was not working, keep in mind it was 24 degrees here last night. I told him that obviously the pipes outside were frozen, neither one of us thought to wrap them up. We called my mom and again she came to the rescue. She told him to wrap a towel around the pipe and blow dry it, so he did. To my surprise it worked!! Yippie we have water!! I went back to bed. Later on I decided I might as well get up after all I had to be a work at 3:30. So far the day is going good. I get to work safely today, no flat tires for me.. YIPPPIE again. The night drags on as slowly as it possibly can but luckily I work with some really cool people so it made time go by faster. Towards the end of the night my co-worker had the table from hell!!! Just to give you an idea these people (and I say that harshly) ordered a drink well it just so happens that we ran out of the item on her last drink. My co-worker informs her of this and all she could say is, "well now im pissed, I should take my party of 8 and go else where." Come'on who does that?? Then im talking to my table which is about 8 feet away from this group and to get my attention she snaps at me! Seriously did you just do that? Needless to say I didnt respond! Sorry if that offends anyone. Now its time for dessert, haha, my co-worker is telling the table about what we have and lets them know that we are out of the cheesecake. No big deal right? WRONG! The same lady turns to her and says, "so if thats what I want to order are you going to run and get me some from somewhere?" NOOO lady we wont! Now your just being rude! Anyway, the point to all of this is that after work I came home and had a glass of champagne and I needed it! To all of the stressed out and the people who had a bad day im drinkin a glass for you.. CHEERS!

Day 8

Hello again to all of my wonderful followers.. We are at day 8 and today just like many others there was not a whole bunch to do. I didn't go anywhere, in fact I tried my hardest not to get out of bed. I did however pull myself to go outside in the freezing cold (ok well maybe 30's) to take a picture. I have been wanting to take a picture of my rope swing for some time now, and I did. I spent most of the day on facebook and I got a bug to play with photoshop. I'm in the process of self-teaching myself photoshop. Sure I can go to a class but its more rewarding to say I learned on my own and then to end up being good at it. I didn't do much to the picture just a basic color wash. Hope yall are still with me and enjoying the pictures. I think im going to cut it short today and go curl up on the sofa in front of a fire and eat ice cream.. Stay warm everyone..

Day 7 " Artic Freeze?"

Well here we are day 7, a full week into into the 365 project. As those of you reading this blog know how I have been complaining about the cold weather here in Louisiana. Well tonight its getting down to 22 degrees! Thats NUTS. The news is going on and on about this artic freeze thats going on. All I hear is ITS COLD, ITS COLD, ITS COLD. With it being that cold tonight we are bound to have ice and maybe even snow if it rains again. Im excited about being able to use my fireplace for the first time, but I think I feel more cold air from it than hot! However the fire is really pretty so I decided to take some picutes of it to share with all of those out there that are as cold as me. For the photographers out there if you have even taken a picture of fire you know how unpredictable it is and with that you get some really cool looking shots. Im glad I get to share this warmth and the excitement of my first use of the fireplace. Stay warm everyone hope you enjoy.

Day 6

So todays picture came by an unwanted opportunity. I had everything all planned, I was heading to work with a dish in mind for todays photo for my food segment. Well it didnt quite happen that way about 20 miles from work my tire goes flat on the interstate. No big deal right? WRONG I had no spare tire in my car GO ME. I call my mom afterall mommy fixes everything right?? She said she was on her way to me but was about an hour away. So I sat in my car with absoulty nothing to do for an hour. I have always wanted to play with nighttime photography but never had the right things to do it correctly with and I still dont. So I seized the moment and pulled out my point and shoot and played with all the settings on it until I could get the night time effect I was looking for and to my suprise I got it for the most part. So with that being said I am looking forward to getting my SLR so I can do this correctly. I will admit the hour I sat there I was actually kinda having fun taking pictures made time go by faster. Im proud if this little point and shoot.. And yes mom came to the rescure again, brought my tire and even changed it for me and I got home safely unfortunally I did not make it to work but they are ok. So I will try again tomorrow for a food picture hopefully no more flat tires.. Have a good night all.

Day 5 "The cheddar stack"

Today again was very cold, I mean come on my ditch in my front yard was FROZEN! So there was no way under the shinning sun (which there was a lack of) that I was going outside to take pictures. I did however follow the advise of everyone who I have spoken to and decided to take my camera to work with me tonight. We at Stones Bistro is Slidell, La serve some amazing food there, if your a local you should totally come eat its awsome! Anyway this burger which Chef Ryan calls the Cheddar Stack come with a side of fresh fruit and onion rings, the largest ones I have ever seen. I decided to take a picture of this because afterall if I have to be there might as well combine my work with my passion and complete a project day. I hope those of you reading this are not hungry lol. I may end up doing a segment of food pictures, could be interesting.. Well thats all for today I think im going to find something to eat now.. Oh ya in case you have not noticed I like to talk so for those of you reading this if you would like to me to just post pictures some days and not talk so much feel free to tell me it wont hurt my feelings I promise..Good Night

Day 4 Just another Monday

Today I decided to go to the park, I was going to let the baby swing but I quickly learned that it was way to cold almost bone chilling cold. As we drove down the lakefront I decided when we got to the park I would just jump out and take a picture of something if it cought my eye. When we got to the swings there was an emptyness about them so I took the picture in B&W and to me it emphisses the lack of people and the emptyness of the park today. Well hopefully tomorrow will be a little warmer and I can try again at the park. Until next time stay warm whereever you are..

Day 3 A little off track

Hey Hey Hey, Well its day 3 and I took some pictures today mostly of the sky and the sunset, for some reason I love the way the sun sets and what it does to the sky. Today was nothing special just another Sunday, however we did go out to eat lunch today with my daughter Makenzie who is almst 17 months old. She is at the stage where she wants everything that mommy eats and today I had wings. I was trying to break her off some of the meat but that was not good enough for her she wanted her own, so to keep her content I gave her a whole wing with no sauce of course and that is where todays picture came from. My babys first wing experience, totally amusing to me anyway.. So with that being said that is why the title of this post is "a little off track". In my last post I said I didnt want to post just anything but I thought that this was amusing and I wanted to share it with everyone...well atleast those who read my blog... Have a good day

Day 2

Hello again, well its day two and im finding out quickly that this project is harder than people want to think. I had a hard time taking my picture today, one because as I said before im not use to using a point and shoot so I couldnt change the settings like I wanted to and two because I dont want to start taking just anything and posting it. I want all of my post to be quality im not trying to take the easy way out, not this time.Over all I got a shot that is the best I can do with a point and shoot so im happy with it for now. Back to the point I find more and more that when I look at something the first thing to hit me is HMM what would that look like in a picture.. Crazy I know! Everything is being looked at in 4x6 or 8x10 format LOL. I have alot of ideas I want to caputre but I have to wait until it warms up some its oddly cold for being New Orleans. Anyway so far im on a good track but its only day 2, many many more to come.. Good night all

Day 1 today is the day..

This was the clouds and the moon right after midnight

The sunset around 5:30ish

Happy New Year! Well today is the day the official beginning of my Photo 365 Project. Last night I had to work but we kciked off the new year in a good way making money, So I cant complain. Toward the end of the night I was thinking about pictures and what I wanted to start this project off with and to my suprise the deliberation process was harder than I thought it was going to be. I brought my camera to work with me but unfortunally I could only bring a point and shoot camera because I have not been able to aquire the money needed to replace my SLR. Im kinda bummed about that I know I could do much better with a better camera, but at least I have something to start with. Anyway, Around midnight we went outside to see the fireworks but something else caught my eye it was the moon and the clouds around it.. it looked like a quilt, nice and puffy with small spaces inbetween each section of cloud. I decided to take a picture of that to start the new year after all it was after midnight so that counts right? However I did take another picture this afternoon as the sun was setting because I was worried about how the moon would look and felt that it wasnt the best. I have decided to post both and let you decide which is better, whoever you are, wherever you are. I hope you like them and I look forward to the days to come.
